Users immediatel y logged out of Salesforce

Hi - can anyone assist with a perplexing login issue?
The problem involves some users who can not log in from a specific PC, whilst other users can. Those who can not log in at the specific PC can login at other PCs. Users who can not log in at the specific PC do not have a single Profile in common.
Login is initially successful for all users but the system immediately logs out some users before the home page is displayed. This issue is constant for the same users, even when their profiles are changed.
The Login History shows each login attempt as successful, even for those who are immediately logged out.
I have summarised the login scenarios and results in the following table, referring to the users as A, B and C respectively and the PCs as 1 & 2.

C / 1 / Local Administrator / Yes
A / 1 / Local Administrator / No
A / 2 / Local Administrator / Yes

C / 2 / Local Administrator / Yes

Probably stating the obvious - Do you have any access restrictions on any of the profiles (ip restriction or hours). My guess is no, but tossing it out there.
Another thought, again, I'm reaching here, did you try another browser on the same computer? Or make sure the browser you're using is up to date?
Is this a new issue or ongoing ? You could also log a case directly with Salesforce through the help link and see if they have any suggestions. Sorry I don't have a magic bullet idea...

Thanks for the thoughts Garry.
I don't think it can be a restriction issue, either time or IP, as the same user can log in from other PCs in the same office. Also, if it was an IP issue then the login would not be recorded as successful in the Login History
I haven't tried a different browser on the same PC on the basis that if the browser was the issue then nobody could login from that PC, but some users can.
I logged a Case directly with Salesforce over two weeks ago but have not had an response, which is a bit disappointing

Not sure if this would solve the problem, but couple more things you can try are:
1) Try clearing browser cache and cookies
2) After the user gets logged out, try to manually go to the https://<your org's instance>/home/home.jsp or to https://<your org's instance>/<any record id in the org>, like https://na1.salesforce.com/001000000007pXz
BTW, do you get any message when you get automatically logged out?

Clearing the cache worked for me. I'm not sure if this is related but I'm using Internet Explorer 6.0
