Using Excell connector I successfully imported donations. Donation records were properly associated to the organization. However, the related lists on other object pages do not reflect the donations.
Has anyoned experienced this?

Which other objects? Are you looking for them to show up on the Contact record? If so you'll need to create Opportunity Contact Roles for them as well. That's a table that connects the Opportunity to the Contact with a text Role.
Thanks,
Steve

Thanks but I don't think that is the problem. This is something intrinsic to the non-profit package I believe. I am a sys admin for another company (the non-profit is volunteer) and this problem does not occur in that org.
A related list should populate and be reflected not matter which object detail page you are on as long as you have it exposed on the page layout.
I think this is a bug.

Can you clarify which related lists you're talking about? Maybe post a screen shot of the record with the missing data?
Thanks,
Steve

I have just attached steps and screen prints of the issue. My business salesforce instance does not behave this way. I have compared setting and cannot find the problem.
Thanks for helping.

When you create an Opportunity (renamed Donation in this case) from the button on the Contact layout, you get an Opportunity Contact Role for that Contact. When you create a donation in a different way, you don't. That's standard Salesforce functionality.
Thanks,
Steve

I am surprised that non-profit temaple behaves differently from the standard Sales version. That is not the case. At my day job there are multiple business lines in the org and only one uses contact role as an informational category. The opportunities are always reflected in all related lists.
Are you suggesting that I create a custome look up field for Opportunity Contact Role with a role of donor and have it default on every new donation?

The nonprofit starter pack behaves the same as the standard version--if you create an Opportunity from the Contact record, you get a contact role. If you create Opportunities from the Data loader you'll have to use the data loader to add Contact roles to those opps. That's how it works in the standard version of Salesforce.com.
Thanks,
Steve

I disagree. I don't know what standard version you use; we use EE. I have been using Exel Connector, Dameand Tools and Data Loader for several years and have never had to load contact roles.
Thanks for taking the time. I will investigate your suggestions in non-profit.
